The intuitive brochure for the Galleria Nazionale in Rome takes the form of a map of the museum. It shows where the entrances, basic services and cafeterias are and the distribution of the gallery’s main spaces. The exhibition rooms include drawings of some of the pieces of art they contain, to serve as a reference. The map is not only a schematic drawing of reduced complexity, both of the exhibitions and the general spaces; it also includes fictive elements and contextual references relating to the building that houses the Galleria and the city of Rome. It thus builds a world outside of reality and promotes intuition and curiosity as holistic elements in discovering and enjoying the space. The inside or back of the brochure can be used to write, draw, take notes or make orientative drawings.
